How CityHope Helps
CityHope “walks with” individuals and families, empowering and equipping them with the necessary resources and skills needed to thrive in their communities. By providing support services to those experiencing financial hardships and housing insecurity, we ultimately build transformational relationships that promote lasting change and dignity for everyone.
Food Pantry
- Our Food Pantry runs the first and third Saturday of each month. Please arrive by 8:15am and bring your ID. If you do not have an ID, we can help you obtain one.
- Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of your town of residence.
- Check to see what basic supplies are in stock: clothing, toiletries and small household items, etc.
- Ask about our drop-in hours or schedule an appointment.
Drop-In Hours
Drop-in hours are held on Thursdays from 1-3 pm. During this time participants may be able to receive the following help: secure identification, secure background checks for employment or housing, obtain local bus passes, obtain items from our toiletry closet, receive emergency pantry items, schedule an appointment to discuss additional assistance or coaching and find a place to rest and have coffee and conversation.
Relational Advocacy & Coaching
Are you struggling to buy food, clothes and other basic necessities? Do you find yourself scrambling to find the resources you and your family need, or even to figure out what local help and resources may be available or who to contact for help? Are you always trying to make positive life changes but they don’t seem to stick? Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World
This 16-week workshop investigates individual and community issues that lead to poverty. Getting Ahead Investigators work with community leaders and tackle challenging issues. At each workshop investigators identify action steps to take in order to alleviate poverty and build resources for everyone. Proven tools and strategies are provided which promote opportunities for investigators and community leaders to make new choices and decisions that can prevent, reduce, and alleviate poverty.
Getting Ahead (GA) is an aha! Process, Inc. program proven effective at addressing root causes of poverty, https://www.ahaprocess.com. GA was developed in 2004 and designed to support individuals and communities, working together, to achieve sustainable lives and communities.
